MODELING
truth pierce
The year was 2017, and Truth had no idea what was about to happen. She had just watched the movie "The Greatest Showman" from start to finish, and every aspect within that movie made her yearn to be in movies of her own. As she watched in awe, she had a great ephiphany; she finally knew what she was going to do with her life, and that was to become an Actress. Till this day, that moment has stuck with her and continues to be a massive guide in turning her current Acting dreams into a reality. During her performances now, she often times tries to replicate the same energy and passion that was shown by each Actor and Actress in The Greatest Showman.
By her Sophomore year in High School she was granted the role of Sound Technician, where she was able to get a glimpse into her dream career field. The following year, she auditioned for a lead in the UIL One Act Competition, "Over the River and Through the Woods”, a play about four grandparents who try to convince their grandson to start a life in his hometown. It was during this debut performance that Truth collected her first award, the All Star Cast (individual) award.
For her next piece, she knew that she wanted to test her skillset in Choreography. She held the title of Head Choreographer and played Starky, a pirate on Captain Hook’s team. She choreographed every dance in numerous genres. From the Tango to Hip Hop Pop and Lock, she taught ages 11-17 with only had six weeks to put it all together! The show sold out every night and finally made the school recognize the Theatre program. The following year she was asked to choreograph "Newsies The Musical Jr.”, this time with twice as many performers.
Her last performances for her school included “12 Angry Men” and “And Then There Was One-A Spoof”. Both performances of which Truth received outstanding reviews. She often heard things such as, “You made the crowd laugh the most”, “Your performance made me call my grandma and tell her I love her”, or, her personal favorite, “You had me crying for the rest of the night.”
Truth participated in her community theater for thirteen years and performed in numerous plays, a few of which she became well known by the community for such as, "A Journey Through Bethlehem" where she played Mary and in “The First Christmas" she played one of the Kings’ Men. Truth is also professionally trained in various genres of dance such as Ballet, West African, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Musical Theater, taught to her by companies such as The Dallas Black Dance Company and K.E. Dance Center.
In her free time, Truth engages in Writing, Acting, and Directing her own screenplays. She has recently ignited her Modeling career, modeling for local brands such as Defiant Boutique, Nemers Boutique, and Elysia Collective Co as a Freelance Model. For the Remainder of 2023, Truth plans to continue Acting and continuing to build her Modeling portfolio.
